    Leasehold Issue - Section 20 1st Jun 17 at 11:01 AM
    Hi

I am a homeowner in a block of flats which has 52 apartments.

We have received a request from our management agent for funds for work to be carried out - nearly £2000 per apartment.

My question is can they request these funds prior to completing a section 20 consultation - I cannot find any evidence on whether they can do or can't however they are saying they legally can do. I have requested advice from legal professionals and am waiting to hear back - just wondering if anyone has come accross anything like this here before.

    Thanks

    Hello,

If the expenditure is more than £250 per flat than they need to issue a section 20.

    The question was:

can they request these funds prior to completing a section 20 consultation
I'd imagine they can request, but you'd not have to comply..
