TS, do you pick your pears while they are still hard? Mine are still like rocks, so not really wanting to pick them, but know they will either drop off, or something will get them if I leave them.

What do people use to post pics now please? And can I just get an app for it and post straight from my phone? TIA

Mr TS is a bit of a stickler for letting things ripen naturally before picking so there must be reason for him to pick the pears now as it is unlike him.

I used the postimage.org without setting up an account (can't be bothered) so no idea where the pics are stored in the ether. Have had to do it on my laptop though, every time I try on my phone I get some error message.

We've been picking our pears while still hard and just letting them fully ripen in the kitchen
Our pears are massive, never had such a good crop and not sure what to do with them apart from encouraging Errant son to eat as many as possible.

Oooo, might get mine picked then. My gran used to have a massive pear tree when I was a child (probably normal size really) and she used to always used to do pears in lemonade, dunno how, and freeze them. Ahhh, a childhood memory.
No, it wasnt that long ago, before you say it!!

Is it just the angle or are those huge jugs DM?

Those apples on the right in the yellow tub look too good too press into cider.

Booked a cruise last week, or week before, just a short 4 nighter. I think I paid about £350 for a balcony, it has now gone up to £740!! Shocking pricing!

I imagine the prices of the short ones are more likely to fluctuate - fluid pricing.

I am watching the pricing on our next one which went up a bit but then dropped down so now its only £34 more expensive, mainly pondering on the possibilities of upgrades. The last time I looked back in August the cabin next door to ours was still for sale and it still is ....

Anyone been to Gilgamesh at Camden before? They have an offer for afternoon tea for 2, and unlimited fizz for 2 for £34. Thinking it might be a nice stop off en route to Southampton next month.

In Hamburg we went on the organised excursion to Lübeck to see the Holsten Gate and had tea and cake in the marzipan shop Niederegger - I think its probably quite easy to get to via train.

When we sailed out again we passed Queen Elizabeth as she was getting ready to set off as well on her world voyage so we had a firework display and just at the mouth of the river before we got out into the sea again there is a famous restaurant who put on a concert with an opera singer at full volume
I know it wasn't for our ship but even so, great fun
