i found my Oh a stray white magnum in the freezer - thats the only gift he got for Fathers Day.
Errant son was on his way to work before Oh got up this morning. Eldest son rang early and Eldest child rang at lunch time but mainly because she had lost her return train ticket and wanted to know if her dad could be anything about it.

But i am taking him away on a mini break later in the week when he comes off call - if only to shame the kids

If not, then I would be quietly deducting the cost of the mini-break from their Xmas/birthday gift budgets and giving him the mini-break as a gift from all of them.

I know everyone is on tight budgets but what is wrong with the old fashioned home made cards or even a funny e card ....

I had a lovely day with my dad today, no grand gestures, simply doing a bit of allotmenty stuff and then a lunch of steak, roasted new potatoes and salad in the garden. Simple pleasures

    Good evening paw sniffers

Fathers Day? We don't bother much. Both DD and DS who are at either side of the world at the moment, sent lovely messages and rang Mr TM.
I tell them not to bother with Mothers Day either. I dislike the commercialism of it all. We always speak and I get something handwritten. Sometimes I get flowers but prefer that they don't waste their money. I need nothing but their love

All families are different and as long as we are all happy with what we do, then that's fine

I'm now sat out on the patio, now that's it's cooled down!, Sipping Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon that one of the kids got me for Fathers day.

Hope all the other Fathers had a good day.

I used another One4all all card today in Marksies. I'm saving the remaining ones for the £10 meal deal. Don't spend a penny over £10 or they won't work.

The boys ( plus DS2-GF) came over for lunch today, to be with us on Father's Day. It was lovely to see them.
