Last shop I had that had - again one voucher, I don't think I have multiple vouchers fail on one shop - fail, I included a loose banana. Other previous shop that failed had those loose carrots. One that worked just had two items - wasn't doing a comparison - some teabags and some cooked meat, no items by weight at all - the voucher was fine.

I've just got details of five APG shops I've had where I haven't claimed/spent the voucher back - still got the receipts. All attempting to pay exact value (I am exact) or 1 or 2p over it if my banana was too big or I got as near as I could to what voucher(s) I had available and exceeded the voucher value just a little. One shop was fine - I bought starmix and flump and didn't buy any loose items. Voucher went through fine. Next shop had a voucher fail - I bought a 13p banana. Other shop - also one voucher fail - I bought those 17p carrots. Next one - one of my vouchers failed - it's the last voucher attempted on the shop isn't it each time? - I bought 1p of a carrot. Yes, I was 1p short of my vouchers so just put that on it to reach the right amount. If it's going to do that, fail the voucher, I would have been better not to buy the carrot at all (didn't actually need it for the 8 items although I suppose it made the shop a bit 'safer' by being there in case one of the items didn't count) - if I had a bill 1p short of the vouchers, the final voucher - with me buying no loose items - would simply have changed itself to 1p less and cashed the shop off, paying for it entirely, instead of voiding itself.

Final shop, one voucher failed yet again - it thought it was £1.60 instead of its true value £1.69. I bought a 13p banana again.

It does seem to be the priced by weight items. Now that I am aware of this, I will look at it when I do my shopping in future to see if that is what is causing the failures.

    Evening peeps.

I remember someone mentioned last week that they checked an APG, but when they later went to print it, the voucher price was lower than earlier.

Just got back from A's and an even stranger thing happened. I picked up a couple of wombles yesterday dated 2nd, and tonight I printed them off. I had one for £1.43. The SA scanned them all no problem, 6 in total. When she totaled the transaction, it rejected the £1.43 and lowered it to £1.17!! All the others were fine. SA who helps out in the cash office said she'd never seen that before!

Has anyone else had this happen?

In my case I think the Morrisons price updates were being backdated. They might not have been at all though, it might have been something else

eg your receipt for yesterday might have been £1.43 against M using last Wednesdays price collection data but when the APG database was updated today using prices collected yesterday they've recalculated yesterdays M comparison as just £1.17 (or worse and the £1.17 comparison is due to a new competitor being cheaper now)

The way to check would be for someone who gets loads of wombles to record the M price for all their wombles and then routinely check those same wombles and compare the M price each time.

I womble diddly squat these days so I can't do it

edit: scamps, do you still have the receipt that went from £1.43 to £1.17? If you plug it into APG now what value does it give?

    [2] I'm not doing that.

However, in the unlikely event(?), that scamps still has the receipt that allowed the £1.43 to be printed or somehow has a record of the TC# and can obtain the full comparison against M again, if you post it, I will have a look. There is probably little difference between last Wednesday and yesterday (prices in M now mostly start on Wednesday itself) although I note that the price collection for one of these has missed two Schwartz packets causing one of mine to go full price M on two instead of 4 for £1 - the voucher came against T and T was picked up at full price on all four of them and not its 4 for £1 that is showing on msm although it is showing OOS - maybe unfortunately the same issue as the A price glitches arises: that items OOS, sadly this time at the competitor, return full price for "up to 7 days" if they don't return to stock and collect a new price. There could be changes between M collections as a result of them missing items that they had before but don't any longer - even if no price change in M - or having items they didn't have last time, again even if the price in M hasn't changed. Otherwise what were they buying - gala apples and tenderheart cabbage?

It's not the value of the receipt I am more interested in - although it would be interesting if it now was £1.17 - but more the full comparison against M to see if there's anything I think has changed. I think its the loose weight thing thought, on the new shop on which the £1.43 was attempted to be spent.

When I do re-check wombles at a later time, because of going back to claim the voucher later, I have always had the same value come back as that I originally got. The prices should be locked in as they will be those that they have for the date of the shop. I wonder about shopping on an M price collection day such as a Monday though. I wanted an item that was on offer last Wednesday but may have changed. I shopped on Monday so that the prices would not be updated. If I shop on a Sunday, then the prices should not change because the system will go back to Sunday and use the Wednesday data - Monday's data, even if it reaches the system later in the week, does not apply to Sunday as that was the prices for the day after onwards. But, if my shop was on Monday and I waited instead of checking immediately and getting the last Wednesday, or if I came back and checked again later, I wonder whether Monday would change to Monday at some point because that was the data for the date that the shop was done and reached the system on the update a day or so later.

Sunday doesn't risk changing. But does Monday risk changing - to Monday - if you leave it off as that is the price collection day? I don't know - I was sharpish in claiming on the Monday itself, so that the prices would not be updated and claimed and spent the voucher all in the one day so not risking any updated prices by leaving it. I think if you shop on Monday that is too soon (if you want the new data). You may have to shop after the prices have been updated. As it happens, I think nothing I bought has changed in price at all in M and would still have been valid so it was all unnecessary.

Just had a fabulous whoopsie run

I never get meat as I can't be on with the queues but I think there might have been some changes since I last visited this store.

An assistant just kept popping out with trays of stuff. Everything 10p. She was obviously avoiding the "regulars"
She walked right up to me and asked me to take what I wanted before everyone spotted her.
She kept coming out of different doors with different trays. It was such fun. People were chasing her right left and centre. I had to stop myself giggling

Anyway I've took some pics but I need to eat and watch Dr Stalker first.....

Can't work photos out so do not bother taking them. Need an idiots guide for how to post them if anyone has one.
