So sorry I missed your birthday Poppy, hope you had a lovely day

We got back late last night from quite simply the most extraordinary, amazing holiday ever. It wasn't at all MSE and even though we started saving for it almost from the day we got married we still feel wickedly extravagant

Hope you are able to sort something out MKS. Our next door neighbour's daughter works for Monarch and mentioned a couple of weeks ago that she thought they were in big trouble. She's close to retirement so won't be too badly affected but of course lots of people will be

Back to reality for me now. All weight loss from the last couple of months has been wiped out in a week lol, so healthy eating from now on - and as I type Chris Evans had just said that it's National Chocolate Week next week

I'm visiting a homeless Project at the weekend. They've just had their shower facilities refurbished, so would like to talk them plenty of shower gel, shampoo and hand wash. I know various varieties are working but are any particularly good value please, as I'd like to take as much as I can carry on the train?

Quite funny, at one of the homes we do some work at we are friends with one of the clerical staff, I was standing there looking at something outside and she came over to see what it was, I was looking at a false widow spider and I have never seen her move so fast when she saw it

    Good morning all...

So here are my October pledges...

To keep food shopping below the £40 mark for the 2 of us.

We currently have quite a few odd things in the freezer that have accumulated over the last few months(mainly reduced items) which could do with clearing out so hopefully being creative with meal choices this month should give an empty freezer come the end that can start christmas preparations.
I also have just over £12 in wombled APG's and a couple of free vouchers for bits and bobs.

I am also going to pledge to try and reduce the utility spend on gas and electric....it gets quite hammered when DS is home and it feels as if the monthly DD won't cover the quarterly bill if we dont take some steps to try and control it.....last month without DS home loop calculated that we were £10 under budget and I would like to maintain that this month too if possible.

On the alcohol front we have also decided on a partial stopober....only allowing it at weekends and Friday evenings....

SO those are my pledges....lets see how they go!

On the toiletry front it's been not too good but the plus side is everything that came in was free.
10 in...2 full sized shampoos,2 full sized conditioners and 2 foam conditioners all to test and spread the word on from supersavvy ....a full sized body wash and bubble bath that were a gift from my lovely host whilst away last week....and a full sized toothpaste to review from something called the home tester club.

The out's amounted to 5....a full sized hairspray,a full sized body lotion, full sized shower gel,deo and perfume sample.

Anyone else off to Bella I this evening for the taster of the new menu?
I had an email last week to say I had won a meal for 2 ....so that seems to be 3yrs running we have been....so I do think we have been extremely lucky.
I always feel the need to thank MHOC every single time this comes up as she was the one who very originally found the promotion and I'm not sure she has ever managed a meal yet......

Let's hope for a lovely autumnal week for everyone x

    Good Morning

    Very blustery here.

Off for lunch with chums & then giving blood

I read on FB that many friends also were holidaying with Monarch.
A family of 7 are meant to be flying to Alicante tomorrow & don't have funds to buy other flights as too early to get refunds
