In Morrisons today there is Jungle Formula maximum (well 50% DEET which is fine) down from £8 to £5.

Home & Bargain had a few known brands relatively cheap yesterday.

I got Calypso once a day factor 20 for £4.99 form Aldi last week. We usually use Piz Buin all day long, but I checked reviews and this seems to get very good comments

For this year, I'd go for Aldi. Next time, if you favour a particular brand, buy it at the end of the season. There are always reductions.

My DH swears by Aldi insect wipes. They're seasonal so not sure f they've got them in yet this year. I don't use them myself as insects don't seem to like me. I tell myself it's the quinine in my gin and tonic.

Boots do a sun lotion with "built in" insect repellent. It's their Soltan brand, but I'm not sure how effective it is.
    Normal people worry me.

If you have a Savers near you have a look to see if they have any Jungle Formula. We got some last year and it was only £3.

I've used Boots Soltan for many years and always been satisfied.
They have a large range of creams, lotions, sprays, once-a-day.....

I use their after sun which also has insect repellent.

I bought a couple of Xpel plug-in mosquito liquids (lasts for 45 days) from Savers for £1.99 each, Bodycare also do these.

Bodycare were also doing a good deal on Piz Buin, my friend bought some.

I'd also look in Home Bargains, B&M type of stores.

I've used this since we first went to Goa over 20 years ago.
I have a book sent to us by Thomson dated 1996/7 which states:
"An excellent mosquito repellent (believe it or not) is Avon's skin-so-soft bath oil spray. It's highly effective. Even sand flies will keep their distance."
It was, at that time, very oily and they've changed it since then into the dry oil spray.

Avon did, a few years ago and for a very brief period, state in their brochures that the S-S-S Soft & Fresh dry oil spray was a good mozzie repellant.
I think that over the years word has just been passed around so lots of people use it as a mozzie repellant.

I use it after after-sun but before 'proper' mosquito repellent - I'd never just use it on its own.

I see it as a good moisturiser and if it has the added benefit of deflecting a few mozzies to bother somebody other than me, I consider it a bonus.

It has lots of uses - including removing tar from car paint.

There's a thread on here somewhere with a long list of uses.
