    New York-Newburgh-Stewart Airport 17th May 17 at 1:30 PM
    Hi

I am travelling with Norwegian Airlines to New York in July 2017. They fly into Newburgh-Stewart airport, New York. Looking at the airport website there appears to be both bus and train transfers to New York city.

Has anyone made this journey before and which is the better option...train or bus? Any other tips greatly appreciated.

Are you on the flight from EDI that arrives at 8pm NY time?
If so, then you really need a back up plan if your flight is late arriving or immigration takes too long.
I'd look at the train options to Grand Central station, drops you in the middle of Manhattan. Buses tend to get stuck in traffic, NYC traffic can be horrendous.

It appears there are trains from Beacon to Grand Central (East of the Hudson) and also from Salisbury Mills (West of the Hudson) to Hoboken http://web.mta.info/mnr/html/planning/schedules/

There is a direct bus service to New York connecting with all Norwegian arrivals and which will wait if the flights are delayed. As they are the only international flights and only carry 189 passengers each, delays should be minimal, indeed the airport has less than 10 scheduled flights in total each day. You can find full details and book in advance which is probably a good idea, for $20 each way on the airport website
