    As above.

    I had a text confirming annual boiler service . Booked the day of work and... they didn't turn up. Great stuff.

    What are other people's experiences? Is this common?

    I'm a new customer so wondering if I should cut my losses and run...

    Cut your losses and run. Plenty of terrible reviews.

    Following a warranty repair they left our boiler 'working' until I came to use it and found it didn't work at all, it threw up an error.

    Looked up the fault and quickly realised the gas inlet was closed.

    Hmm... not exactly getting inspired with confidence here...

    Does anyone know where I stand with a lost day off? Has anyone had any experience with compensation in this respect?

    To state the obvious, I don't have the luxury of unlimited annual leave

    To be fair to Homeserve, they have been very sympathetic and are trying to fix the issue. So fair play.

    For the sake of fairness, I'll update how it pans out... just in case anyone happens to stumble upon this thread and wonders...

    I've had this with them. Got my money back in the end as they took so long to eventually come out they went over 12 months for the service.
    This space for hire.

    Log a formal complaint with them in writing for the financial loss incurred for taking a day off work, and see how it plays out.
