Help me move contacts to new phone PLEASE. 16th May 17 at 1:29 PM
I really do not understand why when ever i try to do something it turns into a nightmare!
Just got a lovely iPhone 6s, not new, and want to transfer contacts from my old Moto 3g. Every site says to go to contacts, import/export, export to sim, sounds simple BUT the only export option is export to.vcf file.
So what should I do ?

Add the .vcf file as an attachment and mail it to your email address. Open the email on your iPhone and click on the attachment, you will be prompted to add the contacts to your contacts on your iPhone.

Thanks both, I have sent the .vcf file and imported it to the iPhone BUT there is so much stuff in contacts now, some people have over 12 entries with their email address! Plus stuff from years ago. I have tried deleting some but surely this is wrong?

You probably need to either enable a feature that will merge contacts, or install an app that will do so.

It's probably mentioned in the URL Bally has linked to in their reply but if you regularly back up your Moto G3 to Google when you sign in on your iPhone you can choose to sync Mail, Notes, Calendars and Contacts.

    ... export to sim...

Each entry on the SIM can only have ONE name and ONE telephone number. Most contacts you have will also have an email address, a postal address, a second phone number etc. You will lose a lot of information and will end up with more than one entry per contact if the contact has more than one phone number. Also, IIRC a SIM can only store 200 contacts.

BTW, don't you backup your phone regularly? What if you lose your phone or it breaks?
