    Whilst she may argue that ballet training doesn't help her with Latin, Debbie McGee clearly benefited from her ballet in last week's waltz.

    Disingenuous to say otherwise.

    At 58 she's not ancient . What's her name, Lesley ?, was great last year at 71, I believe.

    My daughter is a dancer and now a qualified ISTD dance teacher and she says that ballet gives you the foundation for so many forms of dance.

    You can tell from this weeks dance (watching it now on sky+) that she is classically trained by her foot, arm and hand placements and general posture, that muscle memory doesn't go away. I learned ballet and modern only until the age of 10 but I can still easily drag out my basic positions 40 years later.
