As the new head judge (Shirley Ballas) has been announced today I thought it was an opportune excuse to start the 2017 SCD thread!

Evening all, late to the party as always. Happy Strictly New Year!

I love Johnnie Peacock... Here's hoping this year is as good as last. And the year before.. and year before...Have raised my glass to the dear departed leader, Errata.

Where is our janepig? She hasn't posted, as far as I have seen, for months! She was a errata's apprentice, I think!

Not blown away by this year's crowd, plus Aston is the ringingest ringer ever to emerge from Ringer Town! TBH I'm still pining for Jay, he still gives me the feels (have I mentioned that he follows me on Twitter? ). Dammit I haven't recovered from Austinwozrobbed, never mind Mattwozrobbed and let's gloss over Robbie Savage for now .

Anyways, as Errata's apprentice I will do my duty and stick with it and provide you all with the benefit of my wisdom, and spoilers, from now till Christmas .

    As you were, my lovelies

I got some of the pairings right as well as Ruth/Anton - Charlotte/Brendan, Aston/Janette, Simon/Karen, Gemma/Aljaz. I got RR and Brian's the wrong way round.

Oh I will be missing the first week again!

Hope Brian does well, I used to love his shows back in the day.

I'm normally the grumpiest of grumps but love his act, good cheesy fun, he would have made a good host of Strictly imo.

    Hi everyone

Couldn't watch last night as we went to a wedding. Honestly, who gets married the day of the Strictly launch ?

Just watched on catch up and I think Rev Coles will be this year's Ed Balls. Not brilliant, but will throw himself into it and we'll all keep him there for as long as we can

See you all in two weeks.

I will be missing it as its my final night in Croatia.

Though I do wish they stick to what they did at the beginning - 2 or 3 different dances. There are eight different ones tonight!

Will there be a vote tonight?

OH is experimenting in the kitchen, so he's not going to be happy if I want to eat on a tray! We usually keep it simple on Saturday, rugby followed by Strictly! No time to cook.
