there may be a few wee errors here as I had to type it all out as it wouldn't let me paste it in...

As you can see, it's BAD... How did it get so bad?
When I left home and got my home of me own I thought I was doing great. Single lad, I had a good job, good income, social life etc.
I had the mortgage with the bank, credit card with the bank, then a loan for my first car...then other loans... and so it began to build up.
After a while I managed to clear the loans and the cards and was able to keep myself in the black.
Eventually, I met a nice lassie, we got married, had kids and started to build up debts again... Loans for holidays, cars, furniture etc. Used Credit cards and the bank overdraft for emergencies... we thought we were doing alright.

I rented out my old pad, the rent covered the mortgage.
Then out of the blue I lost my job...
I lost the the old place cos my tenant moved out, got married and set up on her own. I couldn't get another tenant who stayed long enough and paid the rent to keep it going... I lost it... repossessed.

My marriage fell apart, I left my family and the family home... had a total meltdown/breakdown.
I ended up homeless, going from friend to friend, whoever would put me up for a bit, let me have somewhere to sleep.
This went on for a few years, until I was fortunate enough to land another job. The friend I was staying with encouraged me to apply for a flat with the local council and eventually I got one.

I began to get back on my feet again, furnishing my wee place with second-hand furniture and other basic household items from the local charity shops. I don't have anything much (the old laptop I'm using is held together with duct tape and is veerrrryyyy sllloooooow...).

Now, i am being chased for my debts, it's time to face up to the mess that I have made of my life and wipe out the debt and become and stay debt free....

Today has been a day of leisure...
This morning I went to the Gym and became one with the multiverse while beating the crap out of a heavy bag, lifting heavy weights and listening to an absolutely awesome workout playlist of kick-a s s Rock n Metal
I have read... more Jo Nesbo
I have played Fallout 3... for most of the afternoon... as you do... gamer's will understand
I have watched TV... IRON MAN... YAY
However, I have also done my laundry and cleaned out the kitchen...

I have also had a minimal spend day as I set myself a £10 budget for the day and I have *searches pockets for change*...
    £3.69 (and a Falkland Islands 10p??? eh?)

I am now kicking back with a few Ales - Joker IPA... lovely
Now to catching up with everyone's adventures
Hope you have all had good days too

    Easy like Sunday morning...
    Ah Sunday again...
    Household chores to do.
Sunday morning is my blitz it time for housework. Thankfully the kitchen and the laundry are already done.
Dusting and hoovering of rest of house and the usual deep clean of the shower room and I am done and can settle for the rest of day and either watch some more Twin Peaks or explore the wastelands in Fallout 3...
Today is going to be a NSD as thanks to my dear wee mammy I have a lovely steak pie for my dinner today

Hope everyone else has a great Sunday too

My DD is a gamer so it could be Fallout 3 that's stopping her clearing her room.

Mr SA is fond of his ales, I'm sure he's had Joker IPA before. Small pleasures eh.

I see a rainbow rising, look there, on the horizon...
Not long back from meeting with the IP/Trustee at the CAB...

What a relief it is to know that I am not being judged and that they are there to help me and not my creditors.

I was actually told that I was not allowing myself enough to live on in my budget
They are going to help me sort out my budget so that my creditors get the bare minimum

It will be four years of living within my means, not four years of misery

Thank you to everyone who has been thinking of me or praying or sending good vibes etc. Please, please keep it up

Have set a date for end of July to finalise application and pay the £200 fee.

I will, of course, keep everyone updated about progress and everything

Well done. You'll get there but you still have to have a life. I remember cutting everything to a minimum and not realizing how much I really needed to live on. CAB were brilliant is showing me the way through .
