Parking Fine 20th Apr 17 at 10:02 PM
Hi new to this and was wondering if anyone else had been through this. Sister-law had a fine placed on the car in March by CP Plus Ltd. She contacted them on the 9th March to make payment and the reduced amount was taken from her account and shows on her bank statement. On the 7th April a letter then came in the post demanding payment of £80. We've been exchanging emails to try and resolve this as the fine had been paid and sent attachments of the bank statement, they replied asking for the last 4 digits of the card used. They then replied, saying that they couldn't locate the payment and that I would need to send a copy of the receipt they sent on receiving the payment, however we didn't receive a receipt. All that we have is confirmation from the bank, that a payment was made to CP Plus Ltd.
Thanks If anyone has any suggestions
    Adam

Next time don't pay them. This would have been easily won at POPLA by following forum advice. EASILY WON. NO PAYMENT.

How did she contact them, by phone to pay? The Bank should be contacted if there is a suggestion that a payment went astray in the system.

Yeah by phone she rung them. She didn't really think not to pay as a parking charge was left on car. Bank have given her a statement with the payment on, which has also been sent to them.

Yes but if CP Plus are saying the payment went astray then either CP Plus have a dodgy staff member who diverted the money elsewhere, or it's an error and the Bank can do more than just give a copy statement, your Bank CAN look into where the payment went.

Thanks, I'll get her to go back to the bank and get them to look into it further.

CP Plus Ltd. Should have given you a clue that it is not a "fine"!

By paying them, she demonstrated she's a soft touch - Its not uncommon to see some PPCs coming back to try and get more money.
