Parking Eye Fine in Hotel - but never left the car..... 20th Apr 17 at 6:16 PM
    Hi

Wonder if someone can help me.

I had a meeting at a hotel a couple of weeks ago and parked in hotel early. Got a call that meeting was cancelled and so stayed in car and sorted a few errands out over the phone.

The policy apparently is that I should have gone in the hotel and registered my number plate with the hotel. Instead I just left and now got a 100 fine (60 if paid now). I never left the car the whole time I was there.

Do I have any grounds to appeal?

You can fight this start by reading the newbies thread, but don't expect your made up idea about staying in the car has any merit!

However, so far you appear to have missed 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' at the top of the forum, telling you how to appeal. It has nothing to do with what happened.

Also does your PCN talk about keeper liability under the Protection of Freedoms Act after 29 days, and was it received within a fortnight?

Hello - I had a similar fight with ParkingEye - only via Aldi shopping & NO receipts.
After 5 months of emailing/phone calls/POPLA appeals, even writing to GM Aldi - the charge was dropped by emailing CAPITA (the pensions company) who, are in the process of purchasing ParkingEye - it was reconsidered & dropped in 3 working days. - I used carefully language !! & simply told them how shocked (even horrified) I was for such a credible company aligning themselves with a 'cowboy" parking company that has a Biz plan akin to a 'parasite'. -- TR

The (now erstwhile) CEO of CRAPITA, who as a young boy always wanted a cowboy outfit for Christmas, finally got his wish when he purchased ParkingEye in late 2013.

Perhaps appositely, his name - Andy Parker!

Off to POPLA you will go, so we hope you are reading ahead on that in the NEWBIES thread.
