    Hi,
My daughter bought 2 tickets to a Barcelona FC football match a few months ago as a gift. She booked flights and hotels to arrive the day before the game.
Today she received an email from the football club to inform her that the match has been brought forward by a day. The flights booked will not arrive in time, so the only option is to change to earlier flights, which will cost another £100 or so.
My question is, could any compensation be claimed back via the credit card cover?

    Thanks for your help.

The most likely answer is no, as the ticket terms and conditions will undoutedly say something along the lines that "the fixture may be changed to accomodate broadcasting, police requests, inclement weather, etc").

If the ticket is sold with that term, then it wouldn't constitute a failure to provide the service.

There has been no breach of contract, therefore the CC has no liability at all. This is a risk of travelling before or after an event that can be changed at a whim, sorry

It's the way football works I'm afraid. Matches get rearranged all the time, usually for TV but sometimes because of cup games. The last people to be considered are fans.

She'll just have to decide whether she wants to go enough to spend the extra money. Another option is to forget the football (Barcelona not doing too well at the moment) and just go to enjoy a couple of days in Barcelona.

If it makes you feel any better, I once planned an entire trip to Budapest around a Queens of the Stone Age gig which subsequently got cancelled. We went anyway and had a good weekend!
