Currys repair 19th Apr 17 at 8:13 PM
    Evening all,
Just looking for some advice. I bought a washing machine from currys last August and it has stopped working, I called them up and they said that i will need someone to come out and try to repair it (thats fine by me) they asked when would be suitable, I informed them that both my wife and I work full time and dont get back until 4:30 but we are free on weekends. They said that they cant do weekends so it will have to be a weekday but they cant guarantee it will be after 4:30. I have said that my work is only 10 mins away so if they could call me when they finish their job before mine and give me a ETA I would be happy to drive home to meet them so they can repair the machine (and everyone would be happy ) Apparently this cant happen and they can only give me a 3 hour time slot at best. I told them that I dont have 3 hour lunch break. They have said that if i am not at my house when the repair guys turn up I will have to rebook and be given another 3 hour time slot (which again I wont be able to make unless someone calls me with an ETA)

Should I stick to my guns and ask them nicely to call me with an ETA when they are setting off to my house or do I have to take a days annual leave, which I dont really want to do?

They could make you jump through a lot more hoops to prove that they are obliged to repair it - that would be far more inconvenient than missing a couple of hours of work. Ask your boss if you can catch up the extra hours rather than take leave.
