    How do you eat your?
    Toasted or untoasted?
    Butter or marg?
    Wearing pyjamas or fully dressed?
With a lump of stilton or as the outside of a fish finger sandwich?

I like them toasted, with a thick layer of butter, in bed with a cup of tea.

    Toasted, with salted butter.
But the batch I got from Tescos might well have to be in a bread and butter pudding

It was pretty good...might have to give it a go again this year.

Toasted, mainly as a vehicle for an obscene amount of butter

I do like a hot cross bun, but my wife doesn't like the fruit in them. So we've had some rather nice ones from Aldi with chocolate and toffee pieces in them. She's threatening to make some over the weekend, but for balance she wants to replace the cross with '666'. Fine by me, it's all about what they taste like.
We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night

Hot Cross Buns How do you eat yours?
    Simple answer?
Any blinkin' way I can get 'em!

Toasted is good but so is untoasted.
One "must" though? It HAS to be real butter.
None of that floral, vitalate or stark type of stuff.
    Real butter.

I have some Aldi supposedly "Special" fruity ones to try, maybe later.

If they are really fresh and squashy, then untoasted with thick real butter.

I have never found HCB particularly tasty
I would much prefer a Buttery, lightly toasted with a knob of butter

I normally have them buttered either as is or with marmalade but someone this year introduced me to the strange delight of having them with bacon and they are delicious. Can't say it's a combination I would have thought of putting together before.
