my laptop doesn't recognise any videos on my phone 18th Mar 17 at 9:09 PM
My laptop updated recently. I connected my Samsung phone to my laptop via cable and file manager only sees photos but no videos. I have tried importing from the phone and still no videos showing. I can understand it seeing the videos but not being able to view them but it just seems like they have disappeared but they are definitely still on my phone. I want to edit them but I don't see how if laptop can't see them

    Thank you

If your using explorer to view them and pictures are showing then the videos are probably in a different folder.

If your using a media browser or similar then it doesnt support the video format.

    Try VLC.

Select details on the video and see which folder its stored in.

I vote for the "in another folder" option. Has your phone got an sd card or some other removable storage? My phone has a DCIM folder in built in memory but also on the sd card.

I don't know much about this, but...

Could the phone/PC have switched from MTP to PTP mode for USB connections...? If so, there should be an option in the Android USB connection settings to change this.

Has your phone just updated to 6.0.1 recently if so you need to install the Samsung smart switch, it replaces kies3 on the PC

Keep an eye on the battery usage on the phone now as it drops off
Mine went from two days to 12 hours between charges.
But does get better after a few weeks plus do a master reset on the phone as this sorts out the battery after an update
So I am led to believe.

REMEMBER to back up your phone first
doesn't mater what Samsung it is
to read it google hard reset Samsung
if the android man doesn't appear repeat the process and let go of the power key just before the other two keys
