Best time to buy Samsung Galaxy S7 SIM Free 18th Mar 17 at 1:48 PM
    Hi,

Had a look but couldn't find a similar thread.

I am looking to buy the Samsung Galaxy S7 Pink Gold SIM Free after obtaining a very cheap monthly SIM deal. Purely as I believe the handset will last more than 2 years and the SIM only deal I have is 11/month for unlimited mins and SMS and 4GB data.

Normally I would buy a 24 month contract so this wouldn't be an issue, however now that I am looking to buy the handset offline, does anybody know when the best time to buy the handset would be? I was thinking about waiting until the S8 came out.

Currently Amazon seems to be the cheapest around 425, eglobal is below 400 but there appear to be mixed reviews regarding the website. I have also looked at the comparison sites provided on this forum but none come out cheaper than Amazon from what I can see.

Any advice on when the best time to purchase the handset would be and any recommended retailers would be, is much appreciated.

I agree that waiting for the S8 to be on sale is probably a good idea as the S7 will no longer be the top model.

If you buy a non-European model then Samsung won't provide the 2 year EU warranty.

I think eglobal use sell locally sourced (HK SAR) handsets which should work fine but you may have issues if you need a warranty repair.

Appreciate the information, I might wait and see if the price drops when the S8 comes out.

For the currently small difference with Amazon and eglobal, its probably not worth voiding the 2 year EU warranty.

My previous Samsung models have all been top end spec models and they have performed exactly as I wanted them to and they have all lasted a long time.

I would prefer another top end model again and keep it for a minimum of 3 years, but would prefer not to spend completely over the top on one of the latest S8 models.
