Changes to the rules on Mobile Termination Rates effective 1 May 2015 were designed to eliminate the "non-mobile and call-forwarding" category of numbers. The fact that anyone charges extra for these numbers is now to be seen as pure profiteering.

Increases in charges for calls to numbers allocated in CI and IoM are unwelcome. This is a clear example of profiteering as termination rates are falling.

By the end of 2018 or early in 2019 termination rates for calls to CI and IoM will have equalised with those for UK calls. By then calls to CI and IoM should be inclusive within allowances. Until then, there are numerous services offered on 03 numbers providing call forwarding to CI and IoM numbers and with no additional charges.
