Do you have any store cards? 14th Mar 17 at 9:21 PM
Are store cards still as popular as they once were?

I remember back in the day every retail store seemed to offer an account card. However these days they seem to be mostly branded credit cards offered by NewDay (Debenhams etc).

I have Argos and New Look account cards. They come with BNPL options and regular discounts so not bad if you avoid interest charges by repaying in time.

What store cards do you have?

I still possess one of the Creation issued Selfridges account cards but never use it now as I don't work near to Selfridges any more and attempts to use this non chip/pin duet card in places such as Sainsburys which accept duet cards causes so many problems with the Sainsubrys staff (denial that they accept duet cards even after having their attention drawn to the duet symbol on their cards accepted sticker, accusations of being a fraudster, calls to security, being told by staff members of the alledged massive amount that Sainsburys loose every day by accepting duet cards and more (believe me I am not exagerating in the slightest) that it's not worth it.
Having said that, I do actually like this card because it is very old (which is why I don't close it) and still has the old T&C's, for example no interest is charged if a statement balance is paid in full without the need for the previous statement to have also been paid in full just like it used to be with credit cards once upon a time and CRA reporting is limited to just a balance figure, no previous balance, payment amount or 'markers' of any sort (Experian) or no balance of any sort, just a green 0 (Equifax).
Just wish it was a bit easier to actually use it. Looking at the 'What payment methods can I use' section of the FAQ's on Selfridges website, it would appear that they no longer accept it either.
