Not far off competition, renovation help 14th Mar 17 at 9:22 AM
Hi first off if in wrong forum please move.
As title says not far off competition and after a very stressful sale, on to the next step.
Quite a bit of work to do in the house I'm buying it had been let out for 6 yrs previous and definitely has lacked tlc.
Good clean needed, garage door repairing new patio doors, full decoration, some skirting boards new internal doors.
So here's the question do I get separate trades in or a builder (apart from decoration). Also what is a reasonable price for standard size double patio doors fitted. In North West. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't sound like much work for a builder.

You need a carpenter for your doors and skirting. And a local independent for your patio doors. It depends on size and style but a ballpark is about £1000 a metre although I'd be aiming for less than that if it's uPVC.

What was the competition? Did you win a house?

Autocorrect on overdrive. I think they meant completion.

I asked the same question recently and its best to get a carpenter who will know a painter. Or a handy man should be easily be able to carry out the above. I am using checkatrade
