Posting a high value good? 13th Mar 17 at 9:00 PM
Hi, I'm looking to ship a laptop worth around £700 but everywhere quotes £40+ for shipping. Is there any service which will ship and have a guarantee for a lower price please?

I've looked on ParcelMonkey and similar sites but they don't allow you to enter the price of the item and see the insurance costs - you have to go through each one manually. Thanks!

Laptops are mostly exempt. You need to look for someone that will cover you. Or do you just want a cheap price that won't cover?

Oh that's a shame, but good to know, thank you. To be honest it's someone posting to me, he's said he's happy to drive it here (4 hour round trip) but that seems excessive so I'm trying to find an alternative for him

(I'm selling my laptop soon too so will have a similar problem)

make sure it's fully insured, and tracked. And no, you won't be able to send it for less than £40!

Parcelforce48 is the service I normally use for laptops as special delivery shoots up when you send laptop weights. SD is great for light items like phones but not good for laptops!
