How to sort out this mess with Vodafone? 12th Mar 17 at 1:26 PM
I bought a vodafone sim only 12 months contract last month from E2Save (Cashback deal). This month I bought another one for my wife (Under my name as she does not work and will not pass credit check). I bought the second one through Mobiles.co.uk (I know it is also part of carphone warehouse as e2save) in order to have two separate accounts.

Vodafone put both numbers under one account which means one monthly bill for both numbers. This will ruin my chances of getting the cashback. Vodafone will not split the account eventhough I provided them with a different bank account for the direct debit when I bought the second sim.I tried to cancel the new sim (I only ordered it yesterday) with Vodafone but they said my contract is with Mobiles.co.uk whom I should contact about this. The vodafone agent also added that she knows that carphone warehouse will only cancel contracts if there is a signal problem.

I have not done cashback deals since 2004 when a company went bust leaving me with two expensive contracts. I dont want to go through that bad experience again. Any ideas please.

On-line purchases are subject to 14 day cooling off period.
VodaShmuks are talking nonsense as always.

Thanks for the reply. That is what I was thinking of. Does any one know if e2save and Mobiles.co.uk will accept the bill for the cashback even though it is showing charges for both numbers? Common sense says they should but I know they will try every trick not to pay

Did you even try and take the second contract out in her name?

Not working isn't usually a cause in itself to fail the credit check or does she have bad credit?

No I did not. She does not have bad credit but just assumed that as she has been a housewife (bringing up the kids) for the last 15 years she will not pass the check. Anyway it is always easier to have the account in my name as I can deal with the companies directly for any issues as my wife is quite busy with the kids and their education and activities. She is a wonderful mum

I have had two different contracts from different retailers on one account ( although it wasn't Vodafone ) and never had any problem claiming the cashback.
As long as the bill clearly shows the separate phone numbers and charges everything should be fine.

It all depends on the t&c. I think you'll probably find that it asks for the bill showing your details, the mobile number and that all payments are up to date. If they don't specify that a bill with more than one number won't count, then you're covered anyway. You have 14 days to cancel the new contract (ignore what Vodafone have told you) although I have operated multiple contracts with Vodafone in the past and not had a joint bill. You may be able to print out each bill separately even though they are on the same internet account. To be sure, don't waste time and effort calling Vodafone, check with the Web Relations Team by following the contact procedure constantly posted on the main Vodafone Complaints thread. Don't panic, but get confirmation in writing of anything you do (the WRT are the only part of Vodafone who can be trusted and are worth the effort). If you followed the basic groundrules you will have printed out the t&c at the point of sale art the time so should already be able to answer the first point without getting (sometimes misguided and incorrect) responses on here. It does sound like you haven't, in which case you should do that in any case - as well as following the other groundrules.

I haven't found a decent deal at any CPW company in well over a year; I now use a different dealer for all my/our cashback contracts (have in fact taken out two in two days and will add at least one more tomorrow, with possible others later this week). Though there were some decent sim only contracts with CPW during that time, you may have done better elsewhere (depending on the bundle and cost).

Hi Lee...Many thanks for your message. I emailed you this morning and I will appreciate your help as I have been on the phone to customer service nearly on a daily basis. A new problem now is that vodafone website showing charges of £52 on my new sim card which I only received two days ago and have not started using yet (Still in drawer). Phoned customer service last night and they could not explain it. The monthly rental should be only £25 so where did they get the £52 from?
