    Money Targets for Lent?

Money Targets for Lent? 25th Feb 17 at 1:23 PM
As it's quite a cultural event in our calendar I got to thinking about the 40 days of Lent and how it has evolved from it's religious background for most. Most people usually choose something to give up something like food (chocolate, crisps etc) or computer games, TV .

Does anyone have a financial target for the 40 days - even with the break on Mothering Sunday to suit tradition! - It seems an achievable target than launching into deep cut spending for a unknown end date when the DF/MF is achieved/ or perhaps taking a break from cuts/ savings?
    - At end of each day adding all the loose coins in purse/wallet to make a piece of art collage; different coins on each day and create a picture?
    - For 40 days of spending only £1/£2 each day?
    - For 40 days not grocery shopping so only eating what's in freezer/ fridge? may require strategic stock up before starting). [That ones close to the original biblical plan really! :P]
    - For 40 days with an increased budget before back on finance budget without end date until DF or MF is achived?

I'm afraid I'm just giving up sweets and chocolates. Glad somebody is calling Mothering Sunday by its proper name though. 'Mothers day' is an American import.

Will try to make £200 over Lent. I'm due a payment for YouGov anyway.

Need to make £72.66 in two days. I don't think I'm going to manage it.

Easter weekend and by the end of it Lent will be over ... did you get payment from YouGov/ make £200? Did you make the £72.66 in 2 days or did you need longer?

Lent finishes Maundy Thursday apparently, not that it matters.

It's just a deadline. No, I didn't make it. I have decided to try to make £300 in about 70 days instead.
