Traveling to Thailand from UK in two weeks 15th Feb 17 at 3:55 AM
Wondering what the cheapest option is, I do know if I start to change £1000 spending money into Bhat from here at an exchange I`ll not get a good deal.

Im wondering if there is a really good card I can use for abroad, one that will save me as much as possible, with withdrawal rates etc

looking for as much advice an possible, like things....

should I get a normal credit card?
should I get a card that I can credit with funds then use over there?
how much should I withdraw at once? as I really don't want to be carrying around £1000 worth of Bhat in my pocket.

any help and advice appreciated thanks!

You could try using a thai prepay card or exchanging cash over there

do not use atms in thailand unless absolutely essential. You can't pay for many things use a card unless you're in a mall. Most times, they'll charge a credit card fee. Atm's in thailand charge 200 bhat, about £5 per withdrawal.

I'd like to know if this is possible, walking into a bank and just getting cash, but if in rural areas not many walk in banks available I'd think so unavoidable.....

The FCCH board might be the better place to ask?

I would like to add that if you are leaving in 2 weeks time it may well be too late to try to get a new card.

Exchange your cash pounds for baht in Thailand, beginning on arrival at the airport, downstairs by the rail station at SuperRich Exchange (not bank booths).

Get a Monzo prepaid card via the link in the MSE article to jump the queue, it will arrive a day or two after you load £100. Reload instantly as required.
