Best Energy Drink For Morning Alertness? 11th Feb 17 at 5:47 AM
This might seem a stupid question, but what would people recommend as an energy drink to be able to wake up first thing in the morning? I suffer with terrible morning grogginess and very cranky with people compared to the night where I'm very alert.. so I'd like something to get me alert first thing and readress the balance.

Any suggestions for an energy drink?

I'm really jealous of those people who can get straight out of bed and "go!".. takes me hours to fully wake up and can't do it now with responsibilities. I need something to help me that is instant ! especially if I wake up late in the mornings..

I'm not looking to drink energy drinks all day-every day.. just for a quick morning boost that will get me going each day that is INSTANT.

You're looking for a band aid to put on a big gaping wound.
You task should be to identify why you're like that on a morning.
Have you had a history of eating late? Staying up late? Waking up late?
These are the things to re-address.

In the meantime, try not to get hooked on "energy drinks". They are not "energy drinks", they are "rot your body and confuse your brain its energy" drinks.

As others have said, best way is to go to bed earlier and get more sleep.

A mug of coffee first thing and I'm ready to face the world. I am a morning person anyway, my brain is already on high alert even before I get up.

Supposedly gingko biloba can help concentration too.

But I've never found any of these to make much difference. I'd need hard drugs to get me going! I reckon a good diet, regular exercise and consistent sleep-patterns would be your best bet.

Water. I tend to have a small cup of black coffee with coconut oil in before I train early. Not sure that really does anything but hey... :-)

I do ten to twenty minutes of gentle yoga while still in bed (at least on days OH is up before me) followed by opening the window, sticking my head out (whatever the weather) and getting ten good deep breaths of fresh air in my lungs. Then down stairs to a glass of water and a cup of coffee as a minimum, I have to force myself to eat something as I'm really not a breakfast person but know I'll feel better later if I at least have something even if it's just a banana or piece of toast.

I used to be really bad at getting up and would hit snooze at least four times every morning and actually fall back asleep between each one. Since the day I started this morning routine almost a year ago I haven't hit snooze once. I wake up, follow my routine and get on with my day feeling great.

If I can't do in bed yoga I just do stretches instead, just to wake my muscles and get rid of any aches and pains from the night, basically just try to give every muscle group a little wake up first thing.

In my fitter years , I used to take a berocca first thing as soon as I got out of bed . I used to get up at 5am everyday .
We all have opinions, I know and I imagine most people would be very anti berocca . It worked for me
