    Payment A Day Chapter 18

    Payment A Day Chapter 18 22nd Jan 17 at 3:05 PM
    *The principles of PADding*

Emily Hallett started a fantastic thread called 'a payment a day' which you can find via going to this webpage (sorry it won't work for me right now)

The thread is extremely supportive and friendly, with lots of madness and smileys to boot! It is ever increasing, which is why having hit 200 pages, challenge is continuing on a brand new thread.

The principle of the idea is that you pay any extra money you have against a debt to clear it a little bit quicker. Not everyone makes a daily payment, but instead they save money to make a lump sum at the end of the month. You can do it anyway you want to, but join the thread and let us know how you are getting on.

Some PaD-ers have cleared their debts and are now focusing on saving following the same principal, so they still post on the thread. Anyone is welcome to join in at anytime.

    Best wishes to everyone

    PS. Here are the rules

    *The Rules*

Evening everyone, having a really down time at the moment, letting debt really worry me, just seems one thing after another.

Anyway, £4 to NEXT, £6 to EDF debt & £4 to Water debt today.. Really needing this rebate now, so I can chuck some of it at my student overdraft. It changes from a graduate to a normal classic account next month and really want it gone! x
Focusing on Student Overdraft: April- £1350/ £1225.

£100 for me to balance cc again please LMD.

Lau, keep going, you're doing fine. I know what it's like when you've got money in the pipeline earmarked for debt and it seems to be taking for ever to come through and in the meantime you feel like you're not getting any where but please don't be too hard on yourself. You are taking positive steps and you will get there.

    Morning everyone,

    Thanks for the kindness.

I sold my old iPad yesterday for £150, so £50 went to my mum for what I owed her, and kept the other £100 in the savings at the moment as unsure financially where we stand this week in terms of my rebate coming or not so best to keep money aside

£2.34 onto my credit card today, going to be going through old clothes and stuff for eBay once the boys have calmed down- which will probably be when they go to bed tonight lol. We have another iPad, but hubby is unsure what to do with it. We also have an old phone been quoted £50 for it, so going to make him take it to town tonight after work. Have a lovely Monday everyone! and thank you all for keeping me going <3 xxxx

Credit cards and emergency fund should be first priorities after your LBM. I disagree about no emergency fund - doesn't have to be big - but if you don't have it more likely to slip back into/more debt when a white good dies or something happens (think mine was £500 when I began debt busting years ago)

Take mr no budget - he has debts and the bank of Mum and Dad - his boiler died the other week - cost £150 or something to get fixed - it was an emergency so he had to borrow more money to get it fixed

Just think about it folks. If you still choose to fling all your cash at your debts that's your choice but just the reasoning behind having an emergency fund as I see it and what I did

Lisa - down in the dumps Mrs? Well this is only virtual but just imagine it and enjoy

I believe in the power of PAD
