Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2017 13th Dec 16 at 8:02 PM
Welcome to PART 1 OF Pay ALL Your Debt Off By Xmas 2017!

Firstly I would like to welcome all new and existing members from last years thread.

Anyone is welcome to join this challenge and it is NEVER too late. There is also no amount of money too small or too large that will stop you from joining this challenge. We have several members who will be on their debt journey for several years to come, but they are part of this thread to pay off a fixed amount of their debt as the support on here is fantastic!
So, if you think you can pay off all your debts by Christmas or have a goal to pay off a certain amount then please join in!

This challenge runs until 27th December 2017.

To help me run this thread easily, could you please all post your totals in large text and in a bold colour and post the amount you have paid off // target amount

It would also be a big help if you could also put with it your challenge number.
i.e. another £50 paid off so now the total paid off for

    #001 is £315.43/£7685.67
By the way, don't worry about working out your % paid as I can do that for you!

    Hello Blackberry here catching up.
To be honest I've had to take a step back from this thread. When I first joined people did talk much more about how to make money and save money. Recently I started to feel that this had become just a maths balance sheet where no one was interacting just saying what they'd paid. And, when you aren't paying off very much it can get depressing. Yes I'm genuinely pleased that people are clearing their debts and there are some like me who have been around for 3 years, maybe more, so you so really deserve it. But it's a bit like Facebook sometimes when everyone is posting about their good times and you are staying in alone. So I havenít logged on for a few months, mostly I think those feelings are more down to me and my head than the thread but I thought I'd share in case anyone else is feeling the same way.

Since my last post I have paid off £188 so since the last thread I have paid of £2449 but I now have another debt on another card of £1300 - my daughter started University a months rent in advance was £700 plus a security deposit of £300 plus I bought a second hand fridge and her bedding and pans and clothes because she had nothing not even shoes. So I've scrimped all year and I'm back to owing £4848. To not get too down about it Muppets I'll keep my total as it is and change it when the new thread starts. It's not like I'm getting in debt for buying nice things like holidays or cars, does anyone else feel like this or is it just me.

So this is my real life, Sure I exceeded my target of paying off £3000 this year, but I still have over £4000 of debt to go, and I am currently unemployed. I could end up getting into a huge amount of additional debt if I don't get a job soon. And my mental health limits my job prospects. I was only able to pay off the debt I have this year as I effectively stopped all spending, stopped going to the girls football training sessions I did and sold so much stuff. I used to have about 200 DVDs, now I have 18. I sold my bike, I sold numerous kitchen appliances, I sold my camera to my OH.

I'm really sorry things are difficult. I hope they pick up.
