Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2017 13th Dec 16 at 8:02 PM
Welcome to PART 1 OF Pay ALL Your Debt Off By Xmas 2017!

Firstly I would like to welcome all new and existing members from last years thread.

Anyone is welcome to join this challenge and it is NEVER too late. There is also no amount of money too small or too large that will stop you from joining this challenge. We have several members who will be on their debt journey for several years to come, but they are part of this thread to pay off a fixed amount of their debt as the support on here is fantastic!
So, if you think you can pay off all your debts by Christmas or have a goal to pay off a certain amount then please join in!

This challenge runs until 27th December 2017.

To help me run this thread easily, could you please all post your totals in large text and in a bold colour and post the amount you have paid off // target amount

It would also be a big help if you could also put with it your challenge number.
i.e. another £50 paid off so now the total paid off for

    #001 is £315.43/£7685.67
By the way, don't worry about working out your % paid as I can do that for you!

It's been a while since I've been on here, but checking in with an update. Great to read of others hitting their debt free targets, and I'm not far off now. Had some big bills over the past few months - had to pay for the next academic year of my masters which went on the credit card, but have been working lots of overtime and things are back under control. Signature represents what is left to go. I lost track of all the charges to my Barclaycard credit card, so I've just zero'd it as of today for the totals. Student loan paid off this month - that'll be a nice chunk of change back.

So, it's the final straight. Got a car MOT and service to get through next month, but lots of overtime banked again this month, so should be able to get another grand off hopefully. 3 months to finally get myself sorted. Determined to start 2018 debt free - what an awesome thought!

Hello! I'm back after a month off debt busting to move house

I didn't quite manage to not add to my debts but it's nothing too painful and I can easily pay it off alongside my debt figure. £100 off today:

    #118 £3261.65 / £4861 (67.1%)

This is my 3rd year on the DFBXmas challenge and I've started each new challenge right back where I started so although I'm not going to make it totally debt free by this Christmas my goal is to start the new year a lot less than £4800 in debt!
Total debt at LBM = £4861.03

    DFBXmas2017 #118 - £3261.65 / £4861 (67.1%)

HTB ISA - £0 withdrawn for house purchase!
    Emergency Fund £200 / £1000

    Good morning everyone!

Just a quick update with my figures. Another £100 paid to my last debt. So that leaves me at #66 £2439/£2889

A mere £450 left to go!!!! Really hoping I can wipe a lot of this out next payday due to a pay adjustment meaning I'll be paid 6 weeks money rather that 4 weeks.

I really had hoped I'd have cleared all of this by now but I made the decision several months ago to up my payments to my work place pension. (I was paying the minimum 1%) I upped it to the maximum 5% and my employer is very generously putting in 10%. So with this in mind, I'm not too distressed that this £450 is still hanging over me....I'll get there!

I've also upped my payments to my workplace credit union to £100 per pay period...I'm quite pleased with myself that I've managed to leave this alone for months without having to draw on it!

Hoping everyone have a great weekend!

    Bear.
