Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2017 13th Dec 16 at 8:02 PM
Welcome to PART 1 OF Pay ALL Your Debt Off By Xmas 2017!

Firstly I would like to welcome all new and existing members from last years thread.

Anyone is welcome to join this challenge and it is NEVER too late. There is also no amount of money too small or too large that will stop you from joining this challenge. We have several members who will be on their debt journey for several years to come, but they are part of this thread to pay off a fixed amount of their debt as the support on here is fantastic!
So, if you think you can pay off all your debts by Christmas or have a goal to pay off a certain amount then please join in!

This challenge runs until 27th December 2017.

To help me run this thread easily, could you please all post your totals in large text and in a bold colour and post the amount you have paid off // target amount

It would also be a big help if you could also put with it your challenge number.
i.e. another £50 paid off so now the total paid off for

    #001 is £315.43/£7685.67
By the way, don't worry about working out your % paid as I can do that for you!

    Morning all!

Not been on here for a while but I'm just sticking my head around the door to say I've just paid another £354 to my debts. This means I've got rid of another debt leaving me with just one left and I'm now owing just exactly £1000!

I really couldn't have done this without this thread and all you lovely people! Thank you all! Especially to Muppets!

Hi folks, well done all for your progress already this year. It is very inspiring.
I have bitten the bullet and have been accepted for a personal loan with PO to consolidate my 2 remaining credit cards. I didn't manage to get the advertised 3.9% but did get 11% over 4 years. The monthly payments are less than what i am paying now, and i am able to overpay if i have money spare, so i am really happy that at the end of the 4 years it will be gone. I was really hoping i could somehow pay it off sooner but life expenses just kept getting in the way.

I will update my signature shortly to reflect the new debt total.

    Thanks guys x

Yeah it can feel like you have gotten yourself into a mess, and you should beat yourself up about it - but only for 5 minutes !
Then you start with the intention to pay it off (which you are doing!).
You should feel great about yourself, and that you WILL NEVER LET YOURSELF FEEL LIKE THIS AGAIN.

Thanks Glittery but you need a certain amount to live don't you? Food, bills, things break and need fixing so you can not spend but you still need an amount to live and that's how I end up borrowing because I can't actually pay everything without. Will keep trying though

Slowly chipping away at my CC debt, I've managed to consolidate to one card and I'm paying off as much as I can each month. Paid off £400 today. its now debt owing from buying a car. I'm really pleased with myself that I haven't added anything to my debt as I've been saving for Christmas, holidays, birthdays etc. Keep going everyone, we'll get there, LP x
