Las Vegas guide and MSE thread 2017 10th Dec 16 at 2:34 PM
Las Vegas unlike nearly every other holiday destination you may have visited. In Vegas the hotels ARE the attractions. Most have a huge casino attached, but if you think that's all there is to the place, you are sorely mistaken! Each hotel is very different, with its own theme and attractions.

The good news is, is that Vegas can be a friend for us Money Saving Experts, with lots of free attractions, cheap eats/drinks and value for money to be had.

This page cannot hope to cover everything, but should point you towards some good money saving tips. All information at the start of this thread is put together by members of the forum and is accurate at the time of writing - we will update it when we can.

After reading the 'information' posts at the start of this thread, feel free to ask a question and join the discussion! We have lots of Vegas regulars contributing to this thread - join the gang!

Phew, 23.6kg and 23.8kg went through bag drop without batting an eyelid. Hand luggage not checked, just given a tag straight away

Now the depressing part, sitting at the gate waiting to board... And the inbound flight was an hour late, prolonging the agony!

Anyone know what Virgin Atlantic is like with hold luggage which is slightly over, going from US>UK? Say 23.5/24kg instead of 23kg?

We're going to push the limits to the limit i think! 2x 10kg carryons and 2x 23kg (and a bit!) cases.

Must say uber and lyft are working well.
I was made aware of secretmachines having an issue where he was charged more than the range but got nowhere with it. So I now take a screenshot of the page in case I need it later.

And I did. Lyft range 5-7 dollars for a trip. Receipt $9.50 logged a review and attached the screenshot. Within an hour got a reply saying $2.50 will be refunded
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Did well at Mandalay Bay last night by accident. Tracy was playing 70 cents on a machine and asked me to keep it going while she went to the loo. I didn't touch the machine until she walked back, then I pressed the button. $324 win. I had Press on the max bet button by mistake.

For the trip back to the airport, downloaded Uber onto OH's phone, so we could use another first-timer promo code. Much better this time as the trip was $22, minus $15 promo, so just $7

Anyone that is using Uber for the first time in the US, the code VDARA will get you $20 off your first ride.

Dollar is looking better today guys!
Hopefully the sign of it going up and up, just in time for my Hols end of next month !
I been watching Youtube videos of peeps winning big money on slots, so although I have a good few wins over the years on them (including that IronMan game which gave me $1k), my aim this year is to bag a jackpot (mini jackpot will do!), even if it means sitting on the same machine for hours!
2017 Vegas - x2 trips this year, max budget, £550 on each trip!

As for big wins i think our biggest on a machine was like $220 on the willy wonka machine, i think it was at the flamingo or a casino around there
    kind regards!!

Every year I go to Vegas absolutely convinced that this will be the year I get my first hand pay. Every year by mid trip I realise I am mistaken haha! Don't think I've ever had a single spin win of even $100. Last year Mr W-J won $188 on a 40c spin on a Fireball at Mirage, that's the best ever return on a spin either of us has ever had. I flipping love slots though - even though they're an absolute mug's game
