    Saving for Xmas 2017 - A pound a day 26th Nov 16 at 8:13 AM
This is the saving for Christmas 2017 - A pound a day challenge

    Back by popular demand

The Aim: To save a £1 a day from 1st December 2016 to 30th November 2017. How you save your £1 doesn't really matter, whether it be a £1 in a tin, an on-line account or anywhere else that suits you.

We will open our tins or have access to our accounts on 1st December 2017 and declare out total amounts saved

Then it's spend, spend, spend for Xmas 2017 on whatever you like.

I've had great success for the last 3 years and use a sealed tin. For 2016 I saved £2 each day instead of £1 and this really does take a lot of the stress out of Christmas, also, I have a great time counting out all my £1 coins at the end.

You soon get into the habit of putting a £1 a day away and just think this time next year you will have a healthy chunk of money towards the expense of Christmas

If you would like to join in pop your name down and I will allocate a number for you.

So come on everyone, decide on where you are going to keep your pounds and let's get saving!

Interesting little factoid from Boots today: when they have a triple points day, as they had today, you can't also use paper vouchers for spend thresholds but if you've loaded them on your card they can't prevent it and you get both Bonus points for buying specific products also work. This amounted to points equivalent to 20% discount today and pushes my total to:

    Hi all,

Is it too late to join? I'd like to start as well. Tomorrow is the 1st of august. I'm thinking better late than never. Please advise.

    Thanks

    Hello!!!

Once again my sincere apologies for going missing I'm still trying to juggle many things at once but now with the added complication of working away from home several days a week. I haven't had time to draw breath recently

I think everything is now up to date but if I have missed something, please let me know.

Welcome to our newest recruits and Good Luck to you both, still plenty of time to save towards Christmas

Fantastic totals for everyone as usual, we're getting to the business end of the year now and aren't we all doing well

Keep up the good work and I will do my very best to update our totals more frequently

    Take care
