    Saving for Xmas 2017 - A pound a day 26th Nov 16 at 8:13 AM
This is the saving for Christmas 2017 - A pound a day challenge

    Back by popular demand

The Aim: To save a £1 a day from 1st December 2016 to 30th November 2017. How you save your £1 doesn't really matter, whether it be a £1 in a tin, an on-line account or anywhere else that suits you.

We will open our tins or have access to our accounts on 1st December 2017 and declare out total amounts saved

Then it's spend, spend, spend for Xmas 2017 on whatever you like.

I've had great success for the last 3 years and use a sealed tin. For 2016 I saved £2 each day instead of £1 and this really does take a lot of the stress out of Christmas, also, I have a great time counting out all my £1 coins at the end.

You soon get into the habit of putting a £1 a day away and just think this time next year you will have a healthy chunk of money towards the expense of Christmas

If you would like to join in pop your name down and I will allocate a number for you.

So come on everyone, decide on where you are going to keep your pounds and let's get saving!

    Hello everyone,

Sorry I have been AWOL for a while, too busy at the moment with work and trying to look after elderly parents

Great work by everyone as usual and lovely to see those totals rising for us all.

Keep up the good work, we know just how much difference this challenge makes to us all at Christmastime.

    Take care

Just transferred £30 for April brining my total to £151/£365

I think this approach is genius! Even on a low income putting this much aside a month isn't really noticed. It builds steadily month on month & I've probably got in the account as much as I spent on Xmas last year already!

Thank you for starting this challenge

A little extra from me, it should be more but I'm finding I have to submit customer support tickets for 95% of TCB transactions these days and wait 3 months for resolution. Thinking of trying Quidco instead.

    Hello!

I continue to be conspicuous by my absence but please don't be alarmed I won't desert you all My parents are taking up a lot of my time at the moment so I don't have a great amount of spare time but I will update totals as often as I can.

Talking of totals, how good are we? We are continuing to make great progress and now we are approaching the halfway point we have some very healthy amounts

All totals updated where requested, keep up the great work everyone.
