Debt free before 30.. can I do it? 21st Oct 16 at 7:06 PM
Right this is the start of the new me, new beginnings and becoming debt free. I am determined to sort myself out financially before the big 30- only 3 short years away! I guess I have had my LBM, I start a new job in two weeks so it feels like a fresh start.

As of today my debts are as follows:
    Halifax CC: 4570
    Aqua CC: £300
    TSB overdraft: £100
    Santander overdraft: £500
    Brother: £300

    Total: £5770

and a grand sum of £0 in savings.

My goals for the rest of 2016-
    - Get up to date with my Halifax payments to avoid any more charges etc
    - Pay off TSB overdraft and stay in the black
    - Pay off Aqua CC
    - reduce phone bill
    - Do not buy any more clothes, shoes or make up in 2016
    - Ebay the hell out of life
    - start meal planning and spend less in supermarkets.

    I will report back daily.

    Here's to becoming debt free

    Becks xx

That's fab for a designer bag. Slow and steady is what you're achieving.

Did you manage to call Very and check? It's fab progress you are making. What's that now? Under £200 with the £75. I think your target was £272 to pay that interest?

£2.25 spend today- a coffee for me and sweet treat for little one. Didnít need to spend money so feel guilty!

Spent 15 minutes on the phone to Very- got passed through 3 different departments and was told I would get a call back. I never did so will try again tomorrow so frustrating!

Working an extra day tomorrow- will leave my purse at home to avoid any coffee temptation!

I finally managed to get through to someone helpful on Very- she allocated the last 2 months of payments off my BNPL purchases. Which means the interest I will be charged will be a lot lower- roughy £150 according to my calculations. I should be able to make some more overpayments to free up space on the account. I am feeling a lot less stressed now.
I paid another £5 off so £10 in total today.

I sold 5 items on EBay tonight- I will keep plugging away at Ebay and making as many overpayments as possible before the 15th Dec.

Hi, SunshineBecks is your council tax over 12 or 10 months? 12 months will be better for the budget if you can change it. Make sure your fed and watered before you go out, that should help you steer clear of rip of Costa. Wishing you all the best on your debt free journey.

Had a very low spend day
    - Postage for Ebay item £6 covered by buyer
    - £1.50 for brown parcel paper as I have run out of jiffy bags

I paid £8.50 of change from the change pot into my bills account as it looked quite low.
The OH was given a £200 amazon voucher from work which will be excellent for Christmas and Little one's birthday in Feb.

Still counting down the days to payday, 4 days to go! I finally have a day off tomorrow, I really need it!
    To do:
    - List 5 items minimum on Ebay
    - post 4 Ebay times
    - Dust, hoover, clean kitchen
    - Write definite Christmas list and order from Amazon
    - Spend some much needed quality time with Little one

    Speak soon,
    Becks

That's a great voucher to get, and will definitely come in handy. I've never worked for a place where we get things like that!

Apologies for being AWOL for a week, I had a sickness bug last week as well as little one's school inset days- we still managed to get the decorations up so the house is feeling very christmassy.
Payday came and went last Tuesday- All bills and debt payments have come out of the account. I have paid a total of £1608 off my debt over the last few months, i'm quite proud of myself... just need to keep plugging away.
Christmas shopping is pretty much finished, I need to buy a bottle of booze and sweets as well as getting all the wrapping done I also need to buy my family's Christmas cards and get them posted. I have gone a little over budget with the OH and secret Santa's budget but have not purchased anything on credit which is a big deal for me especially over the Christmas period.
We have a few Christmassy days out planned but determined to keep the costs down, the local railway have a Santa train ride but it will be £35 for us all-i will see how the month pans out before purchasing.
