    Thanks for the comp.

    Bordeaux is on the Gironde river according to the cruising website but on the Garrone according to most other places. Confused!

    The text immediately above the competition form claims that Bordeaux is on a bend of the Gironde river.

    Wikipedia says its on a bend of the Garonne river (in the department of Gironde).

    this is probably why there is confusion "The Gironde is a navigable estuary (often falsely referred to as a river)"
