Advice please on a dollar purchase and the most cost effective way to do it. 14th Oct 16 at 9:57 AM
    Hi

In the very near future I need to commit to a purchase from a company that only accepts payment in US Dollars. With the pound to dollar rate being pretty shocking I wondered if anyone had any advice as to help make this purchase as painless as possible with all the potential exchange rate costs and bank fee's that go along with this sort of purchase.

I have been told that opening a dollar account might be the best way forward as this will hopefully become a regular purchase, however I'm very new to this and wondered if this was the best way forward or if there was another cost effective alternative?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Please don't consider using a company that went bust in 2010!
