how long for F2F date 11th Oct 16 at 4:40 PM
Does anyone know what the timescales are currently like from DWP receiving your form to getting an appointment for your F2F

I thought the backlog was reduced and the timescale was minimal?

    anyone had any recent experience?

    thanks

Recent experience of a friend is waiting two weeks from when DWP sent PIP forms to ATOS before she received an appointment. The appointment was 10 days later. It wasn't suitable so she contacted them to rearrange and new appointment was 8 days after the phone call.

It could still vary between areas. If you haven't heard within a couple of weeks try calling or emailing customer services for the assessment provider for your area. With ATOS they ignore any special requirements that you put on your application form for the first appointment. It's all generated by computer so could be miles away if you say you need a local appointment or late afternoon if you say you need an early appointment. This forces you to use your one cancellation to change it to an appropriate place/time. If you need someone to attend your appointment with you make sure you're aware of any times that they can't attend before you phone the assessment provider to change the appointment. They'll want to fix a time while you're on the phone and it's unlikely they'll let you change it again.

I have confirmed with DWP that my form was scanned on to the system on the 4th October, the cut of date was the 5th.

I did send a covering letter, typed, as my writing is all but illegible, to request some notice as I would need someone to go with them

I also, confirmed the dates I was unavailable that I had already told them on the phone.

Hopefully it won't be too long, as if they give me one weeks notice and i am not around I won't be able to get the post - and therefore will be unaware of the appointment.

Stressed before I even get the appointment, I really don't cope with uncertainty at all since my accident.
