    Halifax Debt Issue

Halifax Debt Issue 10th Oct 16 at 9:42 PM
    Hi!

I have a defaulted account with Halifax that I have been trying to arrange resolution for, setting up a payment plan, etc. It was passed over to a credit agency from Halifax previously, but when looking to get in touch with them to resolve they advised it was passed back to Halifax?

Then, obviously ringing Halifax, they advised they could not find the details for the debt or who it was with!! I just want to try and clear the debt and heal my credit score.

Is there any way I can check to see who currently is in charge of this debt?

Thank you for any advice at all.

    - Rich

The credit reference agencies will probably have this:

Experian will try to sell you their creditexpert product - ignore it and get your statutory report for £2

Equifax's report can be had for free via ClearScore

    Noddle has always been free.

Between the three you should be able to find who now owns the debt, their contact details and how much is outstanding.

    Hi there,

Many thanks for that - I have already got Experians credit report active, is the credit expert product different?

It has the historical details of the debt, how much - but no information as to who currently has it. I have ordered the statutory report just now - hopefully this has that info on it!

You may be best just waiting until said creditor writes to you again, which undoubtedly they will before too long.
