Ground rent - late payment administration charge 10th Oct 16 at 8:11 PM
I neglected to inform the leaseholder when we bought a buy-to-let, so ground rent notices, if they've been sent, never reached us. The lease-owning company has now got my details from the land registry, and sent a letter requesting the last three years of unpaid rent (a few pounds) plus £70 administration fee for late payment.

Now.. it's my fault for not informing them (or my solicitor for not pointing out that I needed to..). But a quick call to my legal advice line suggests that admin charges are only payable if specifically mentioned or allowed for in the lease (which it doesn't, as far as I can see).
I put this to the leasehold owner who just say I owe the charge. Googling and reading schedule 11 of the relevant act isn't very clear..

Not, to be honest, worth much of a battle, but am I actually liable to pay the extra or not?
