    Weekly Flylady Thread 10 October 2016 9th Oct 16 at 9:09 PM
Thank you, Valli, for last week's thread.

It is your responsibility to read the forum rules, please follow them on this thread as Flylady has been here a LONG time and is a fabulous support and resource for lots of us.

Welcome to the Weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
    WM ~ Washing machine
    TD ~ Tumble dryer
    SC ~ Slowcooker
    BM ~ Breadmaker
    DW ~ Dishwasher
SOAADFA ~ Sit on 'bottom' and do 'nothing'
KH/XH/FW ~ Ex-husband and other not so polite versions
    DH/DD/DS/DW/DP ~ Dear husband/daughter/son/wife/partner/whatever
    OH/SO ~ Other half/significant other
    NN ~ nice neighbour
Toxic (friend/mother/sister/whoever) ~ person in your life that seems to exist to make your life miserable
AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
    ETA ~ Edited to add
Gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up!
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!

Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al - supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!!

Thank you Natty for starting the new thread, and Valli for last week's list.

I managed to get out in the garden this afternoon for a couple of hours and planted up most of the bulbs and bedding plants that I bought last week. I also found a big fat toad living under one of my tomato pots as I cleared the old vines and took the last of the green tomatoes indoors for ripening. i was very pleased to see him/her - toads do a great job of keeping down the slug population

I finished my short assignment early this morning, and this evening I have been sticking labels on 84 envelopes, so it's been a productive day for me too. Well done Valli and everyone who has had a day of flingage, decorating, cleaning up after animals, running, baking, washing, dusting, childminding or just chilling.

I shall post the card to CY's family tomorrow, with love from 20 Flyfamilies.

I am not planning on doing much flying this week, as the house was cleaned from top to bottom before our charity AGM yesterday. We always have lunch together afterwards, so people see more of the house than if they were just coming to the meeting, IYSWIM.

Tomorrow I have college prep to do, and I have to fetch DGD1+2 from school and bring them back here for an early tea And I mustn't forget to make multiple copies of the playlets that we're reading at the Old Wives' meeting in the evening.

Hope everyone has a good week, and that LW's nasty meds get out of your system asap.

Thanks for the lists Natty, I'm in but doing my own thing.

After spending way too much time this past week out and about with a friend, plus work, my house needs a good going over from top to bottom. I also have lots of laundry which is breeding faster than I can wash it. So tomorrow, instead of getting up and putting the computer on, I plan to get stuck in as soon as possible after breakfast/DD leaves for school. I need to do some demoulding in all the rooms as well as the normal cleaning. I'm not going to write a to do list, I'll post a "its done" list at lunch time instead Then I'm hoping to get another one posted at tea time

    See you all tomorrow

    Thanks for the lists.
    Welcome back Craftypixie.

Luckily most of the house is ok as MIL was round to dinner this evening so I had a blitz.
Mr N and I spent a lot of time in the garden as there is still lots to tidy and prune....but my 'Toots list' shrubbery "mound" is now clear of all the ivy and the 3 main shrubs are pruned right down. It is now an area about 12ft square (well it's actually round), bare except for the 3 stubs of shrubs. What to do with it next is another decision.........
All necessary washing, shopping etc has been done.
Quite a few things on email 'to-do list' have been done, e.g. reading meters, checking bank statement, answering emails, making phone calls. Christmas Eve meal out with family is booked

Tomorrow Mr N is hopefully going for a long motor bike ride to visit a friend in Suffolk so I can get on with some work. I have 3 reports to finish and 1 to read through. I have assessments booked for Wed and Thurs afternoons, possibly some students to see.............and Mr N and I are going away for a long weekend Thurs eve - Sun so I'm desperate to catch up/ keep up. I suspect flying may be minimal.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Morning all. Thanks to Valli for last weeks thread and to Natti for this weeks.

Such a big list today. Idk if I'll get much done due to paid stuff. Also WM is playing up so until DH tinkers with it washing is an issue - with everyone except me in catering I foresee time at the laundrette

    Morning all,
Thanks for the lists Natty x

Glad its bathroom day, it is in dire need of a good scrub!!

Also need to do the huge pile of ironing. I detest ironing, so do 5 items at a time and then do something else for a while. Looking at the pile I have today it looks like I might just get it done before bed!!

Also need to plant out the bulbs I have had for the past 2 weeks.

Just having a cuppa, then taking dd2 to college.

    See you soon x

I'm in this week will try and keep up and I want to make a halfterm list so all the jobs we've been promising to do then don't get forgotten

Hugs good wishes and coping vibes for all who need them.

Ds1 was telling me this morning, a friend posted that he was chased by clowns last night in our town they strung a wire up over the end of the train bridge and chased him into it causing him to fall badly off his bike. Thank fully not seriously hurt. But really what complete and utter idiots! He's warned ds2 to be careful coming home from work, but not sure how widespread this daftness is going - so may be worth a mention to people who you know that cycle at night.

Busy all morning so I'll catch up later this afternoon.

    Good Morning

Thanks for list I'm another one who is glad its the bathroom - its so dusty in there and little dog has ripped up the cardboard tube from t roll and left it all over floor. She just loves them for some reason!

Have fed wm but need to get dressed before that goes on line as its v chilly out there this morning.

Waiting to hear from DS1 someone ran into back of his car on Saturday so dealing with insurance. They are both shaken up but ok which is the main thing.

Hope everyone has a nice day

    Hugs
