    Pensions or Isa's? 9th Oct 16 at 8:39 PM
Late 50's 40% tax payer, no mortgage and a sizeable sum to invest. Pensions or Isa's or both?

Both. You need to determine the proportion tho, 50/50 may do.

Watch out for costs and charges, check monevator for these.

May be pay an IFA to do it for you.

One things for sure there will be lots of very complex follow ups to this.

    Good luck

I was going to say the downside of pension is lack of access but at late 50s you should be able to get the money when needed. Both have limitations, more so for an ISA, so really depends what your sizeable sum is. £20k to someone may be considered big to them. £200k won't fit in an ISA for 10 years.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
