Question: Transferring & exchanging foreign currency in a UK account 8th Oct 16 at 9:08 PM
    Hi,

I currently have money saved in a foreign currency in a bank account in the UK (bank is foreign). I'd like to convert this to GBP and put it into my general savings account with Halifax to put towards my mortgage when my deal comes to an end. As it is a substanial amount what is the best way of converting and transferring and what fees are generally involved?

    Thanks in advance

Thomas Exchange offe very good rates for repatriating non sterling funds to your Uk account. Great time to do it with the weak pound!

I've used TransferWise in the past and got an excellent exchange rate, not sure if this would be suitable for your situation but might be worth a look.
