    Yes they drive me mad. What I like to do is download them then restart the computer when I'm going out shopping. By the time I come back hey presto the computer is back at the desktop. No having to look at Please do not turn off your computer

    I always install windows updates.

    Can't stand them.

    Totally freezes up the computer sometimes.

    Mind you, time to get a new machine. I'm still running vista.

    They make me every so mad they do.....especially when I have an important change on a spread sheet to do before Holby comes on the TV....

    But honestly not much longer on OH's lappy, though that too is quite new.

    What irritated me TBH was Windows reconfiguring everything so I had to (again) disable Cortana; set preferences for types of files to be opened by my chosen programmes; etc. etc.
