Advice on going to New York - Javits Convention Centre 8th Oct 16 at 6:41 AM
    Hi all,

I am going to the National Retail Federation next January which is at Javits Convention Centre in New York:

I'm going to take my wife and 18 month old with me. Ideally, I'd like to have them in an area where its close to shopping centres (especially if its cold at that time) and possibly parks to walk close by. Short tube/train and bus travel okay too.
But at the same time, I'd like to be able to get to Javits Convention Centre each day without getting stuck in traffic as thousands of people descend on the place.
Any particular recommendations from those that have knowledge in this area?
    Thanks!

There are loads of hotels within 2 or 3 blocks of the convention centre (or rather "center") if you want to be in walking distance. Nobody in their right mind drives in Manhattan.

Hotels in NYC aren't especially cheap but £150 a night should get you something half decent

<I'd like to have them in an area> By this do you mean that you are asking for recommendations for an hotel in which to stay?
