    Make £10 a day October 2016 Everybody Welcome 30th Sep 16 at 10:43 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 110th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir for keeping the thread going.

I know this first post is long, but please read as it give tips on how this challenge works. Some of the content has changed

If you're new to the challenge don't be scared - here's how it works:

The aim of this challenge is to make £10 extra a day everyday for the month. A lot of people think this is impossible but it can and has been done, over and over. If you feel £10 is too much why not start at £5 or if you're brave join those who aim for £20 a day! Anything extra you make is great so set whatever target you think you can manage.

It also doesn't have to be £10 each and every day - some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for £300 extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:

    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:
    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

    Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:
    Amazon.co.uk, play.com, webuybooks, zapper, CEX

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything.

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet, netmums.com, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

also join topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Sealed Pot Challenge 2016 - basically you put your change into a jar over the year so in December you should have a nice pot of money to help

Mobile phone to recycle? try Martin's mobile recycling comparison site first to see where you may get the best deal!

Music Magpie - have cds/dvds you haven't been able to sell at carboots or online. Try your luck here. Is you do sell your albums/dvds be sure to go via quidco to get a few more pennies

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Collect Boots points while shopping online.

Don't forget to search for your online shop at nectar.com before you buy, and earn nectar points for buying online, including ebay.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make £300 (or any amount of course!) lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it. She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

We can and we will do it. Who's in?

I've had an awful week of money making...

£11.33 TCB, £5.25 Quidco, 7p Qmee and 20p found on the floor of the pub... The only positive is I had a night away on business so saved the cost of meals.

I seem to have bonus Nectar point vouchers coming out of my ears at the moment so I'm off to Sainsburys for this week's shopping. Probably will save up the points to buy my nephew's Christmas presents though, hopefully they'll do a double up offer on toys before Christmas.

    Sainsburys win points!!!!!
Banker and anyone else with Sainsburys nearby. this weekend only you can win points with nectar card. I have been reading facebook and people have been winning £25 worth of points and lesser amounts.

You must spend a minimum of £10 to win anything, but hey its free money.

Also all till spits must be uploaded by end of month and then think they are valid as normal. ie no expiry? cant remember as never keep nectar points long enough to expire.

anyway peeps are talking about saving their points for double up near xmas.

    so go go go go

Have a wonderful holiday, Kantankrus Mare. And Happy Birthday too

Sending loads of positive vibes for your mortgage going through without a hitch , shariann. It will be a big weight off your mind so I hope you'll be able to have a little celebration

Had a very pleasant surprise at Morrisons to be given 2 vouchers for £5 each at the till instead of the one I was expecting. I'd forgotten about the bonus offer they'd had the other week. Haven't used them yet as they don't hand them over until they get printed and come out with the current till receipt. Am adding them to my total though as they'll be spent during the week.

Well I was going to go out this evening but it's tipping it down so instead I'm enjoying some home made curry* and cider**. Actually quite enjoay - I love the "cosyness" of this time of year when it's dark and wet and 'orrible outside.

*Beef, I wanted lamb but the price of lamb is extortionate. This I do not understand.

DS and I have been chilling at home today as DH is working away. We have both been doing surveys.

I have finally got rid of Crowdology after doing a series of surveys on an app and it hasn't credited and they told me I had a payout recently, ignoring the question asked.

I am going to stick with select survey companies, can't be bothered with having loads and then having trouble getting payout or reaching payout levels.

DS and I didn't realise it was raining. It must be raining straight down as nothing hitting the windows. We went out to go shopping at sainsbury's and were shocked it was raining! It was pouring down!

i did win 500 points which I had added to my card immediately before I lose the till spit!

Well done to all the money makers

Our plans for new phones was side-swiped today by my step-daughter breaking down nearly an hour away and DH having to play rescue-man. Turns out her car is a total 'heap' and DH has condemned it and told her to get something else.

Now - how is this for serendipity. Last week I happened to read a review on Dacia cars, which seem to be cheap but reliable. So today when he returned, I told DH and he said to see if there are any for sale nearby at a reasonable price. I found some and sent DSD the details.

DH is now interested in replacing our old banger for something more reliable, especially with winter approaching and ours making strange noises again, and so we are going to test drive one t/m. It will only be a second-hand one but ten years newer. So please, dear friends, cross everything for us that it all works out ok. I'll up-date t/m.

So, long story short, not made anything today but not spent anything either

Hope you all have a soothing Sunday

What a brilliant thread this is this weekend. So many exciting/unexpected things going on. Sorry about any setbacks anyone has had, or lack of money making opportunities but hang on in there and something good will turn up eventually. I fully agree with Lynne's serendipity theory. I'm a big believer in it myself

Lynne, sorry the phone plan went pear-shaped but you may be on to something brilliant with the cars. OH nearly bought a Dacia last year. It had (genuinely) belonged to the sister of the dealer and had all sorts of extras. Only 6 months old too and the only reason she was selling was that she was moving to Spain permanently. We were both very impressed with it but OH, being OH, dithered too long at making up his mind and someone else snapped it up. He ended up buying a different brand but says he will probably get a Dacia next time. You get a heck of a lot for the money spent. They are cheap because they are new to the UK market and the company want to establish a foothold. OH knows several people who own them and they are delighted. Good Luck

Aesop, your cosy weekend with DS sound just what you needed. Congratulations on the Sainsb win. I agree with you about cutting down the surveys and just concentrating on the really reliable/better payers. I'm doing exactly the same. Life's too short and all that. I got the eBay invitation too but I'm not sure if I'll be taking advantage of it.

TheBanker, glad you enjoyed your cosy night in. Sounds lovely. This is my favourite time of year, like you I'm all for cosiness. I love lamb, it's my favourite meat, but we hardly ever have it unless I find any in the stickered section. It's always extortionately expensive compared to other meat

I am going to have to google Dacia, never heard of them. DH and I were talking about buying a new car. Someone we know has decided they need a newer car, even though there is absolutely nothing wrong with their old one. DH said he would buy me a newer second hand car tomorrow but why would i need it? I said the only reason I would like another car is for a 4 door as we have a 2 door. DS is very good about shutting the passenger door as he climbs in the back but it is very restrictive and he doesn't like not having a window to wind down. The person we were talking about cant afford a new car but is insisting their partner take out a loan for it!

    anyway quick catch up.

CBC I meant to say you are extremely helpful to this thread, you post lots and are very welcoming to everybody. You also post very useful advice and suggestions.

Did you buy your digital camera from ebay with the offer?

Kantakurus Mare - happy birthday and have a lovely birthday holiday. Such a lovely way to celebrate.

I have found some new apps and some new sites, some can be done on pcs as well. So something for everyone. Will update a bit later.

I think people are just busy with work, school, studies etc hence thread being a bit quiet. I must start trying to post more ideas on how to earn extra money. Even I forget from time to time what to do next.

Oh and CBC about MS - there are some companies where you can just work from home ie making calls to companies, emails etc so you don't have to travel to earn money.
