    Make £10 a day October 2016 Everybody Welcome 30th Sep 16 at 9:43 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 110th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir for keeping the thread going.

I know this first post is long, but please read as it give tips on how this challenge works. Some of the content has changed

If you're new to the challenge don't be scared - here's how it works:

The aim of this challenge is to make £10 extra a day everyday for the month. A lot of people think this is impossible but it can and has been done, over and over. If you feel £10 is too much why not start at £5 or if you're brave join those who aim for £20 a day! Anything extra you make is great so set whatever target you think you can manage.

It also doesn't have to be £10 each and every day - some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for £300 extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:

    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:
    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

    Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:
    Amazon.co.uk, play.com, webuybooks, zapper, CEX

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything.

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet, netmums.com, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

also join topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Sealed Pot Challenge 2016 - basically you put your change into a jar over the year so in December you should have a nice pot of money to help

Mobile phone to recycle? try Martin's mobile recycling comparison site first to see where you may get the best deal!

Music Magpie - have cds/dvds you haven't been able to sell at carboots or online. Try your luck here. Is you do sell your albums/dvds be sure to go via quidco to get a few more pennies

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Collect Boots points while shopping online.

Don't forget to search for your online shop at nectar.com before you buy, and earn nectar points for buying online, including ebay.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make £300 (or any amount of course!) lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it. She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

We can and we will do it. Who's in?

We had checked on-line that the price was reasonable and Renault dealer prices seem in line with others for this car. So we are going to buy it. I will pay the deposit (less trade-in for our old car) and DH is going to pay the rest over 24 months and we will pick it up Friday, all things being equal fingers xd.

Hi all. I have been MIA again. Not much to report money making wise.
Used another £20 shopping voucher code.
Also found a £20 am@zon voucher I had last xmas.
Should have some overtime pay this month which helps.
Biggest news is that OH is back in work so things should be a little easier, money wise.
Determined to try and live on my wage and pay debts off with his.

Anyway, well done everyone, you all seem so focused. It's really helping keep me on track (most of the time)

Congratulations all you moneymakers. I've not been one of them over the weekend. Have claimed money from PA but isn't here yet. Also, nothing got listed on eBay to take advantage of the offer but there's always today. Or not, in my case

I'm so happy for you with the car Lynne. It's a lovely feeling getting one and I wish you and DH many years of happy, safe and trouble-free motoring. The model OH was hoping to get was the Dacia Duster. It's a 4x4 (although I think they make it in a 2x4) and he's been hankering after a 4x4 for donkeys years but the prices of other brands put him off ever having one. The Dacia was perfect but, as I said before, he dithered too long and it was snapped up by another canny buyer. OH doesn't like parting with his money but a reliable car is essential out here and the Duster was an absolute steal. In the end he bought a Nissan Qashqai which is lovely but is 3 years older than the Dacia was and still cost slightly more. There are no Dacia dealerships anywhere within many many miles and none of the other dealerships had any although a few said they'd keep a look out for one for him. He likes to buy as local as he can just in case of problems. He says it will be his first choice again next time and there will probably be more of them about by the time he trades up again (usually about every 3 years unlike me who does it about every 12)

Sorry I haven't commented loads - it's been super crazy busy getting everyone and everything ready for the holiday tomorrow but I've managed £60 from my occasional job (increase in the new year as they want me to do a bit more/slightly different work - I basically teach the Mod 1 of the motorcycle test but as cover when they are short or have too many students etc. Going forward they want me to take my CBT qualification so I can teach that too and provide cover when their regular instructors take time off... so it won't be a regular job that I can really add to my SOA as some months might be nothing and others I might work 2 full weekends! I'll never know most of it in advance - but it does mean I'll need to register as SE again - bah humbug LOL)
On top of that I sold two units for £40 on FB so that gets me up to £100! YAY!

My friend has 3 sets of my curtains listed on FB to see if they sell whilst I'm away on holiday so it's possible that there will be more pennies hehehe

Unless someone propositions me out in Florida though then my main efforts to make £10 a day this month have probably reached a conclusion - but I shall be back like a woman possessed next month as I will then be able to start shifting some of my Christmas crafts Yay!

'Evening' she said to no-one there. Where has everyone gone ??

Sorry you've had such a horrible, wet day CBC. Our weather was a bit better today - wind seems to have dropped a bit and it was dry for the first time in about ten days Well done with the PA payment. Yes, I agree they are one of the best sites.

I've managed to make £6.40 on surveys today, including one for the pine tree company

I have also taken out insurance for our new car and managed to save £46 on what I paid last year by punting around a bit

Hope you all have a wondrous Wednesday (and not rainy)

Morning everyone. I've had quite a lot of money coming in lately - I did some admin for my book-keeping business, and realised that some of my clients hadn't paid me for the 2014/15 tax returns I did last year (I'm always a bit casual about collecting payment due, as my clients are my friends or friends of friends). So I sent out a few reminders and three people have paid. It doesn't count towards the challenge as it's my job, but useful none the less!

I've just finished a two-week full-time supply teaching placement, which was exhausting but generally enjoyable. I'll be getting quite a bit more supply work from the same school in the future. I was a bit nervous when I gave up my permanent teaching job last term, but it looks as if I'll have enough coming in to pay the bills!
