    Make 10 a day October 2016 Everybody Welcome 30th Sep 16 at 10:43 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 110th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir for keeping the thread going.

I know this first post is long, but please read as it give tips on how this challenge works. Some of the content has changed

If you're new to the challenge don't be scared - here's how it works:

The aim of this challenge is to make 10 extra a day everyday for the month. A lot of people think this is impossible but it can and has been done, over and over. If you feel 10 is too much why not start at 5 or if you're brave join those who aim for 20 a day! Anything extra you make is great so set whatever target you think you can manage.

It also doesn't have to be 10 each and every day - some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for 300 extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:

    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:
    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

    Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:
    Amazon.co.uk, play.com, webuybooks, zapper, CEX

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything.

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet, netmums.com, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

also join topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Sealed Pot Challenge 2016 - basically you put your change into a jar over the year so in December you should have a nice pot of money to help

Mobile phone to recycle? try Martin's mobile recycling comparison site first to see where you may get the best deal!

Music Magpie - have cds/dvds you haven't been able to sell at carboots or online. Try your luck here. Is you do sell your albums/dvds be sure to go via quidco to get a few more pennies

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Collect Boots points while shopping online.

Don't forget to search for your online shop at nectar.com before you buy, and earn nectar points for buying online, including ebay.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make 300 (or any amount of course!) lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it. She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

We can and we will do it. Who's in?

Well done! On both the win and timing it so you could get a gift card. I always seem to miss anything being in stock but I suppose it just means when I get my timing right I'll have even more points to splash out with.

CBC I meant to say you are extremely helpful to this thread, you post lots and are very welcoming to everybody. You also post very useful advice and suggestions.

Did you buy your digital camera from ebay with the offer?

Oh and CBC about MS - there are some companies where you can just work from home ie making calls to companies, emails etc so you don't have to travel to earn money.

Yes, I did buy my camera. It's nice too and was very reasonably priced, especially after the offer voucher. It's a Panasonic like the one I had before that broke. It didn't break because it was cheap rubbish, it was because it got run over. No long learning-curve to use all the functions either as they're what I'm already used to. Very handy for a non-techie like me

That's really interesting about the MS. Do you know which companies do this type of work please? If you ever get a spare minute (and I doubt you ever have any spare time in your very busy life) could you please PM me if you feel mentioning names on an open forum breaches confidentiality?

There was a long article in today's Mail on Sunday. I hate it and never read it as a rule, it's OH that's the DM reader and I just use the codes off the back for the free Mail Rewards vouchers. OH pointed out the piece to me as I'd mentioned something about it last week. I'm surprise he remembered or was even listening. It was about MS and didn't make it all that appealing to be honest. Very warts and all. Looks too high-tech for me nowadays. Apparently they did an article last month as well where the writer said after costs etc he was making about 1.57 an hour. I dou bt I made even that much

Well done on your latest win. You're on a real winning streak

Pleased you got a bargain camera.

am very pleased to read for a change the daily fail hasn't told people how wonderful and free food MS is....

ususally when they post those types of articles there is an influx of Ms would be shoppers who are shocked they have to pay tax and NI and complete reports. What no free lunch?

To be honest you have to factor in travel costs, time for reports etc. and I think most MS will tell you they earn less then the national minimum wage. a lot do it because of the flexibility etc and chance to do something different.

just scanned some books and dvd for 7.38 that am sending to music mapgpie. They paid higher for some stuff than other sites like zapper but less for other stuff. But I like the fact they pay upon receipt if happy with products and and into bank account. Also they accept items at 5 cashout, I know it's bigger than other companies so can afford to do that.

And it felt like the scenarios were getting stricter and more ridiculous. So in the end I decided the effort was not justified by the earnings.

    Evening all.

Just popping in to report 2200 nectar points from swipe and win - very pleased with that but won't add to total until I use the points. Also had a voucher for 12p a litre off petrol so saved 5.65 which I will add now. Have another voucher for 7p off to use by end of October too

Well done to all those making money and hope you are feeling better onmyway.

Hopefully my next up date will be really upbeat as should get mortgage money tomorrow- mind you if something goes wrong I will be miserable as sin!

Can't believe it's half way through the month already!

    Take care

I just couldnt justify spending lots of money to get more points. 2 weeks to payday and half term week after next. I am working hard to get extra money coming in to pay for birthday and stuff.

I got another 5 shopprize amazon voucher today thanks to someone signing up with my referral. Thank you if it was someone from here.

    Evening peoples

Well done on your wins Aesop - you were certainly due some luck. Looks like you're feeling a tad better and back on the earnings

I would be interested in the MS you can do from home as well. Most of the jobs I get offered are not worth my doing because too far away, and don't pay enough to make the travelling pay

I had to at that Banker - I did a survey about that product only last week and it went on and on and on

Glad to hear you're pleased with your camera CBC and must agree that it's soo nice when you get something new that you already know how to use. That's one of the main reasons I want to stick with Sam phones when we get new ones.

I am on tenterhooks for you for t/m Shariann. I really hope it all goes through okay.

Went for our test drive today and was really disappointed when we saw the car. It had chips all down the door edges, had obviously met something hard on the front bumper and a dent on the bottom of passenger door. It had looked lovely on the website and was a gorgeous red colour.

However, I had seen another one on the website which looked grey. Turned out it is silver and went for a test drive in that instead. Couldn't believe it was the same price, as this one, a 63 plate (reg Sept 2013), seems to be in a really pristine condition and has only done 16,000 miles !! It drove well and is really comfortable, even in the back seats. It is termed a Dacia Sandero 5dr hatchback 1.2 Laureate, so is middle of range with a few nice extras like tinted, electric windows all round, adjustable driving seat and steering wheel etc.

We had checked on-line that the price was reasonable and Renault dealer prices seem in line with others for this car. So we are going to buy it. I will pay the deposit (less trade-in for our old car) and DH is going to pay the rest over 24 months and we will pick it up Friday, all things being equal fingers xd.

Sorry for such a long post but quite excited Oh btw I made 3 today as well

Hope you all have a money making Monday
