    Claiming from 20, 30 years ago 20th Sep 16 at 7:07 PM
    Hi
I know that i took out many loans and credit cards from as far back as 1985, a company called NLC Solutions contacted me, i spoke to them at length on two occasions, they seemed genuine and they said i had a strong case, i know i have a strong case, problem is they wanted £495 upfront and then 12%. I cannot afford that, , can somebody recommend a company that does not want an upfront fee and charge a similar amount, or can somebody tell me how i can find all my loans, cards etc that is in my name going back 30 years, i do not even know what companies i was with, i do know i have had loads of loans over the years and i'm sure i'm owed thousands!

    Thanks

they said i had a strong case
Would you expect a sales rep on commission cold calling you to get you to sign up to say any different?

problem is they wanted £495 upfront and then 12%.
LOL. And you wonder why they are telling you that you have a strong case.

If you dont know the companies and you dont know if you had PPI or whether it was mis-sold then how do you know you have a strong case?

can somebody recommend a company that does not want an upfront fee and charge a similar amount
The complaints process is free of charge to use. You dont need to use a company.

or can somebody tell me how i can find all my loans, cards etc that is in my name going back 30 years,
You cant. And a claims company cant either. The best you can find out is the last 6 years. Any further and it requires your own records.

i do not even know what companies i was with, i do know i have had loads of loans over the years and i'm sure i'm owed thousands!
If you dont know who you have borrowed with then how do you know you have a valid complaint?

Wonder what made them say that . . ?
    they wanted £495 upfront
    Ah, that could be it.

    i'm sure i'm owed thousands! . . . . . i do not even know what companies i was with
Who would you complain to, if you don't know who sold you the insurance, and what would your actual complaint(s) be?

It is a Criminal offence under the Fraud Act 2006 to dishonestly make a statement which you know is, may be untrue of misleading in an attempt to make a financial gain or expose another person to the risk of a financial loss.

The attempt creates the offence, not its eventual success or otherwise.

The caller is lying because 1985 predates the banking and building socieites ombudsman schemes and they simply want your money.

You might also like to see this.

If you look here, you will see that it is based in Scamsea.

A little more digging shows its director is also the director of Litchfield Price Limited - another company with threads here about it ripping off consumers.

It is a statement of fact, not an advertisement, that I investigate complaints against small firms of financial advisers for a living.

That is why I know my way around both the FCA Handbook (for financial businesses) and the Conduct of Authorised Persons Rules (for CMCs).

You can go back well beyond the last 6 years but you are reliant on your own records or hope the bank still has some which is unlikely so long after the event (if you left Barclays in 2001, chances are they will have deleted your records in line with the DPA, even keeping stuff in archive from 15 years ago is a push.
