The current series will be the last Series of Great British Bake Off on the BBC.

Seems Love Productions are after money the Beeb just does not have.

3 out of 4 of the presenters are not transferring, I doubt it'll last more than 1 season. Big numbers at first and then a quick decline.
    Millies due back at Christmas.

    GBBO Paul Hollywood and
Nigella Lawson? Now he needs a replacement as Mary Berry has quit, I think maybe Nigella could stand in.

I'd have thought it would have to be someone with technical baking knowledge rather than more of a celebrity food person. I don't know if Nigella would have that. How about Mr. Kipling?

Delia could work as a Mary replacement.
Vic and Bob for Mel and Sue?

The most similar well known cook would be Delia but my money's on Rosemary Schrager.

I don't think it would work to have Nadiya or any of the former winners do it. I think it needs to be someone of a similar professional level as Paul Hollywood so that they judge as equals. Otherwise you risk it becoming the Paul Hollywood Bake-off show.

Most of the names I have heard mentioned are chefs/cooks. Surely they would want someone from the baking world or a pastry chef?

There are many baking award shows not on TV.

Some good professional bakers out there.

I've just read that Alan Carr and Gok Wan are in the running as Mel and Sue replacements.
I'm struggling to think of anyone worse.

I don't watch it, so can't see what all the fuss is about, but it'll probably go the way of Top Gear - down the khazi
